The gangway, in the form of a ramp (6) with guard rails (9), is connected to the quay (2) by a sliding platform (3') which can move along a fixed rail (1'). The sliding platform is linked by a coupling (3) to a hinged and swivelling platform (5') on the adjacent end of the gangway, the other end of which has a hinged platform (14') which can be connected to the vessel by a swivelling coupling.
