A ferromagnetic annular armature (34) is collinearly provided between rotor (22) and pulley (50). A switch (88) energizes electromagnetic coil (72) for activating armature to energize position against restoring force of spring which supports armature in inactive de-energized position. The armature frictionally engages with pulley, so as to drive driven shaft (8). The cylindrical flywheel (14) is provided for connecting drive shaft (4). A resilient bushing (18) supports drive pins (16) with oversized bores. The resilient retaining clip is provided for connecting rotor with flywheel. The clips are releasably connected for extending within corresponding clip recesses in the rotor. The pulley is connected with driven shaft. The electromagnetic coil is provided on opposite sides of pulley from armature.
