A one-component silicone composition which is crosslinked by the action of moisture to form a non-yellowing, adhesive elastomer contains a sterically-hindered cyclic amine in addition to crosslinkable linear polysiloxane, filler, hardening catalyst and adhesion promoter. A single-component, polyorganosiloxane-based composition which is stable in the absence of moisture and crosslinked in presence of moisture to give a non-yellowing, adhesive elastomer. This composition contains (1i) 100 parts by weight (pts. wt.) crosslinkable linear polysiloxane(s) of formula (A), (R2)a((OCH2CH2)bOR3)3-aSi-O-(Si(R1)2O)n-Si(R2)a((OCH2CH2)bOR3 )3-a (A) R1, R2 = optionally unsaturated, optionally substituted, aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic 1-13C hydrocarbyl; R3 = linear or branched 1-8C alkyl; n = a value for which (A) has a dynamic viscosity of 1000-1000000 at 25 deg C; and a, b = 0 or 1. (2i) 2-170 pts. wt. mineral filler (G), (3i) an effective amount of hardening catalyst (H) selected from amines and metal salts of tin, zinc, iron, lead, barium or zirconium, organic derivatives of titanium and chelates of tin, (4i) 0.2-6 pts. wt. sterically-hindered cyclic amine(s) (M) and (5i) 0.2-8 pts. wt. adhesion promoter(s) (P) selected from organosilicon compounds with (1) hydrolysable group(s) attached to silicon and (2) organic group(s) containing a 1-8C alkyl residue with a prim. or sec. amino group on at least one of the carbon atoms. An Independent claim is also included for a non-yellowing elastomer which adheres to various substrates, obtained by hardening the above composition in presence of moisture at 5-35 deg C.
