The static seal ring is of metal with an S-shaped cross section. The cross section has a first lateral straight section (12) extending parallel to the axis of the joint. A second lateral part (13) extends parallel to the joint axis and defines the external peripheral surface of the joint. The two lateral sections are offset in the axial direction of the joint. The lateral sections are joined to curved sections (10,11) of undulating shape. Claims include a method of fabrication of the joint.
