Cosmetic composition for use in lips or skin cosmetic treatment and-or make-up contains N-acetyl hydroxyproline in association with at least one polyol liquid at ambient temperature

The composition is new. Composition for care, treatment or make-up of lips and/or skin contains 0.05-30 (preferably 0.1-10) wt.% of N-acetyl hydroxyproline (in free or complex form) as physiologically acceptable skin/lips care agent, made compatible with oil phase using at least one polyol liquid at ambient temperature, having IOB (inorganic/organic balance) level 1-7 (preferably 1.5-5.5), in amount 0.1-95 (preferably 4-50) wt.%. The composition has preferably form of anhydrous composition or composition with continuous oil phase, and may also contain at least one filler, and at least one component selected from water, colorants soluble in polyols or in oil phase, antioxidants, essential oils, preservatives, perfumes, gelling agents of aqueous and oil phase, liposoluble polymers, waxes, gums, resins, surfactants, cosmetic or dermatological agents and their mixtures. The composition may have form of stick, and may constitute lip or hand balm, or lipstick or lip shiner, with skin/lip care properties. Independent claims are also included for: (1) cosmetic process of care, make-up or treatment of lips and/or skin, comprising application of cosmetic composition as claimed; (2) use of composition as claimed to limit or suppress drying and/or swelling of lips and/or skin, cracks and chapping, and/or to protect lips and/or skin against effects of inclement weather; and (3) use of polyol liquid at ambient temperature and having IOB level 1-7 to make N-acetyl hydroxyproline compatible with oil phase.
