Colloidal suspensions of block and diblock polyaminoacid copolymers useful as carriers for pharmaceutical, nutritional, phytosanitary, and cosmetically active materials, giving increased biodispersibility
Colloidal suspensions of submicronic particles useful as carriers for pharmaceutical, nutritional, phytosanitary, or cosmetically- active materials, solid powders obtained from these suspensions, the process for their preparation, intermediates, and active suspensions and solids containing them. The particles are based on amphiphilic linear alpha -peptidic chains of two recurring polyamino acids, hydrophilic (AAI) and neutral hydrophobic (AAO). Associated with the colloidal suspension, and not dissolved, is an active ingredient. The AAI amino acids are preferably Glu or Asp, and the AAO amino acids are preferably Leu, Ile, Val, Ala, Pro, or Phe. These suspensions are stable at pH 4 - 13 in the absence of surfactants, and have an insulin load factor (Ta) of 7 - 30 % of associated insulin volume relative to the polyamino acid volume of the carrier. They also have a mean hydrodynamic diameter of 10 - 150 nm. They may be block or diblock copolymers, the amount of AAO in the total being 10 - 70 %.
