Indirect measurement of induction motor slip for speed controller

The slip is measured by supplying a direct potential (116) and direct current (120) to the inverter generating the alternating supply (V=f) to the induction motor, and calculating the power factor of the motor using the supply values. The slip is calculated from the power factor.
