The center layer of the composite laminated plate is made of copper, aluminum or non-rusting high-quality steel. Decorative veneers made of high quality wood may be glued to this metal layer to give the appearance of a wooden panel. A single layer of metal (5) is used with one layer of wood (3,4) on either side. Alternatively there may be two layers of wood on either side of the central metal layer.
