The mortise and tenon joint assembly device for two parts (2,4) comprises means for assembling the tip (6) of one part against the receiving part (8). A hook (14) is linked to the tip member by a lever (18) and a rod (22) which tension the hooking connection between opening and locking positions to bring together linking pegs (20,38) with the tip member and the other member when the hook is engaged on a grip (16). Both members are secured to the two parts by being arranged at a slight distance from each other in the opening position and are rigidly pressed together in the locking position. The recess (10) of the tip part is open on one of its lateral surfaces to enable the user to cause the hooking connection to be tensioned from the outside.
