A device for centrifuging a fatty tissue sample has an oscillating tubular syringe holder mounted in a cradle forming part of a rotor. The holder has a body with notches for suspending the body on the cradle and a screw top. The interior of the body abuts the radial and oblique surfaces of a syringe and its plug in order to distribute loads imposed on the syringe during centrifuging. The rotor suspension may be two diametrically opposite notches in the body engaging two bearings. The notches are in a shoulder in an upper part of the body. The notches have a bottom opening so the holder can be removed from the rotor. The holder may be a single molding or have a separate liner that conforms to the shape of the syringe.
