(57) Abstract The device and method in order to compensate the effect of the drop size fluctuation which is induced thermally in the ink jet printer are offered. The device as print head temperature is received from temperature decisive unit and the aforementioned temperature decisive unit which decide the temperature of the print head has with the halftone adjustment unit which receives the graphics data with form of nominal halftone value. As for this adjustment unit it can do the increase and decrease of the number of dots which should print by adjusting the aforementioned nominal halftone value which is based on the aforementioned temperature with that, or, by adjusting the threshold array which is based on the aforementioned temperature with either whether of dot size fluctuation it compensates. As for temperature decisive unit, by the fact that the binary value which is supplied to suwasu memory is counted, it is possible to estimate the aforementioned print head temperature by counting the number of dots which should print.
