PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary chinaware which can be obtained by firing while suppressing the shrinkage or the deformation of a body, has sufficient mechanical strengths and free from penetration of water with the lapse of time.;SOLUTION: The sanitary chinaware is composed of a ceramic body and a glaze layer formed on the necessary part of the body surface, and the ceramic body contains alkaline metal oxides and alkaline earth metal oxides in an total amount of ≤10 wt.% and the alkaline metal oxides in an amount of ≤2 wt.%. In the alkaline metal oxides, CaO and MgO are contained as essential ingredients in such a ratio that the ratio of the amount of MgO to the total amount of CaO and MgO is ≥20 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
