PURPOSE: To prepare monodispersive, fine and amorphous polymer particles in god controllability and to use these polymer particles for practical use as an electrophotographic toner by adding at least one kind of hydrophilic- hydrophobic amphoteric org. solvent into a dispersion liquid of polymer particles and associating these particles with each other. ;CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of hydrophilic-hydrophobic amphoteric org. solvent is added into a dispersion liquid of polymer particles. The hydrophilic- hydrophobic amphoteric org. solvent has 0.1-50% compatible slubility with water. These polymer particles are produced by emulsification polymn., suspension polymn., or dispersion polymn. The hydrophilic-hydrophobic amphoteric org. solvent having 0.1-50% solubility with water is added into the dispersion liquid of polymer particles, then a hydrophilic-hydrophobic amphoteric org. solvent which having infinite solubility with water is added thereinto. The mixture liquid is treated by heating at a temp. range from -10C to 30C of the glass transition temp. of the polymer particles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
