PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top board height adjusting mechanism and a desk with the top board height adjusting mechanism in which adjustment of the top board can be simply performed and which has excellent durability and whose mass- production can be attempted and which gives no restriction to the size of a drawer.;SOLUTION: When the height of the top board is changed, a lever 31 is pulled upward. This pulling-up operation is stopped when an L-shaped part of an operating bar 29 reaches the top end of a slide hole 33. In this time, a stopper 17 is rotated clockwise against a spring 27 through the operating bar 29. Therefore, a guide pin 19 is disconnected from a pin storing part 13. In addition, rotation is stopped by bringing the projected part 17a of the stopper 17 into contact with a bent piece 9a of a movable plate 9.
