PURPOSE: To obtain a new pyrimidinyloxy(thio)quinoline derivative, having excellent disease injury controlling effects and safe for crops. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula I (X is O or S; Y is H, halogen, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy or CF3; Z is H or methyl; R1 and R2 are 1-4C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, CF3 or H; R3 is H or 1-2C alkyl; n is 1 or 2), e.g. 7- chloro-4-(4,6-dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyloxy)quinoline. This compound is obtained by mixing and reacting 4-chloroquinolines of formula II with pyrimidines of formula IV in a molten state or in the presence of an inert solvent or converting 4-hydroxy(or mercapto)quinolines of formula IV into a metallic salt and reacting the resultant metallic salt with 2-chloropyrimidines of formula V or reacting the compounds of formula IV with the compounds of formula V in the presence of a base.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
