PURPOSE: To extremely reduce the inside and outside diameters of a small- diameter tube made of an NiTi based alloy for medical use, to clean the inside surface of the tube and to improve the production efficiency thereof by forming the tube to the respectively specific outside and inside diameters and specifically setting the thickness of the oxidized film on the inside surface of the tube. CONSTITUTION: An Ni-Ti alloy, etc., composed of Ni and Ti at about 1:1 by atom ratio are used as the material for tube stock and the tube is formed to the outside diameter of 0.2 to 2mm diameter and the inside diameter of 0.1 to 1mm diameter. As a result, the requirement for the smaller diameter for use and the hardness or ease of production are simultaneously satisfied. The thickness of the oxidized film on the inside surface of the tube is set at 1m. There is a possibility of peeling during use and trouble may arise if the thickness is =1m. The oxidized film of the outside surface of the tube is similarly required to be set at 1m in thickness. However, the removal of the oxidized film on the outside surface is easy.
