PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a synthesized voice having a more natural intonation than that of a conventional one by providing a coefficient storage means, a pitch control parameter generating means, a pitch control parameter adding means and a pitch generating means. SOLUTION: A coefficient storage means 2 stores coefficients classified by categories classifying characters of accent phrases. A pitch control parameter generating means 4 calculates a pitch control parameter 5 by the operation between the control factor vector 1 being the binary variable expressing whether the accent phrases belong to respective caregories or not and the coefficient 3 read out from the storage means 2. A pitch control parameter adding means 7 adds the pitch control parameter addition value 6 separarely inputted to the parameter 5 and outputs the result as an added pitch control parameter 8. A pitch generating means 9 generates a pitch pattern 10 based on the inputted parameter 8. Thus, the pitch pattern in which a meaningful accent is added as a factor imparting an influence on the pitch control parameter 5 is generated.
