PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a mold easy to mass-produce, low in cost and having high dimensional accuracy and a method of manufacturing a separated optical fiber connector ferrule.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a mold having high dimensional accuracy includes a process for placing a plastic main body 10 on a conductive substrate 20, a process for providing a plurality of through-holes 15', 13' on the plastic main body 10 by X-ray etching technique, a process for forming a cylindrical parts at the leading ends of a plurality of the through-holes 15', 13' by ultraviolet etching technique and a process for forming a mold by electroforming. The method of manufacturing a separated optical fiber connector ferrule includes a process for performing the injection molding or thermal pressure molding of an optical fiber fixing part by the mold having high dimensional accuracy produced by the above mentioned method, a process for molding an optical fiber connector ferrule main body by injection molding or thermal pressure molding and a process for bonding the optical fiber fixing member and the optical fiber connector ferrule main body by ultrasonic waves to form an optical fiber connector ferrule.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
