PURPOSE: To provide the member made of the TiAl, Ti₃Al intermetallic compd. which is light in weight and simultaneously satisfies heat resistance, mechanical strength and wear resistance. ;CONSTITUTION: The TiAl, Ti₃Al intermetallic compd. contg. Si and/or Nb is built up at the prescribed point of the member made of the TiAl, Ti₃Al intermetallic compd. The Si and/or the Nb improves the high-temp. oxidation resistance of the lightweight TiAl, Ti₃Al intermetallic compd.
