PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological treatment method and equipment for organic sewage which are capable of preventing the overflow of activated sludge from a screen and carrier outflow and can be rapidly reset to an ordinary operation.;SOLUTION: The biological treatment equipment for the organic sewage 10 by a circulation type nitrification and denitrification method having an anaerobic tank 6 and an aerobic tank 2 in which microorganism immobilized carriers 1 exist is constituted as the biological treatment equipment for the organic sewage which is disposed with the carrier separating screen 3 for holding the carriers 1 within the aerobic tank 2 on the outflow side of the aerobic tank 2, is installed with water level sensor 4 on either or both of the upstream side or downstream side of the screen and is provided with control means for controlling the flow rates of a raw water pump 9 for the raw water to be introduced into the anaerobic tank 6 and a circulating pump 5 for a nitrifying liquid according to the water level sensed by the water level sensors 4.
