PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deadlock reducing system with which productivity is improved by decreasing deadlock by enabling precise exclusive control for occupying only the required data page without letting a user be strongly conscious of the occupation of data, the procedure and range of release and the structure of master language. ;SOLUTION: When the clear designation of an update enable table exists in a cursor decleration sentence, processes 311 and 319 load not ordinary reference lock but update locks 317 and 325 to a page 305, to which records 307 and 308 belong, by previously estimating update processing and the simultaneous reference to the same page 305 is avoided and waited.
