PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joined product not having a joining defect of a void due to a passing trace of a pin, etc., a burr protruding from a surface and having good external appearance. ;SOLUTION: A pin 2 to be coaxial with a rotation piece 1 of a rotary tool is inserted into the butted part where materials W1, W2 to be joined are butted. When the materials W1, W2 to be joined are subjected to friction-agitation joining while the pin 2 is moved in a joining direction while rotating, the materials W1, W2 to be joined having thick thickness parts T1, T2 at butting side end parts are used, the bottom face more inside than the outer periphery of a shoulder 3 is brought into contact with inclined face S1, S2 of the thick thickness part T1, T2 erecting from surfaces F1, F2 of the materials W1, W2 to be joined, the materials W1, W2 to be joined are subjected to friction-agitation joining while applying downward force to the burr B generated in friction- agitation joining.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
