PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate control of power consumption in an electric power supply line. SOLUTION: Electric power supply supervisory devices 3 are arranged between electrical machinery and apparatus such as a printer 4 and personal computers 5 to 8 and the power supply lines 101, 102. A memory means to memorize maximum likelihood power in the power supply lines 101, 102 and a rated power consumption of the electrical machinery and apparatus connected thereto, and a communication means which makes possible a communication with other electric power supply supervisory device 3 is provided in the electric power supply supervisory device 3. When in operation, after receiving and transmitting the information on actual power consumption and so on of each electric machinery and apparatus measured by other electric power supply supervisory device 3, the power consumption of the electrical machinery and apparatus connected to the identical power supply line 101, 102 is summed up based on the received information, and then the loaded condition of the corresponding power supply line 101, 102 is confirmed. Further then, it is determined if the electrical machinery and apparatus connected to the self power supply line has a margin for operation, and the result is notified to the user. If there is no margin, the feed line to the electric machinery and apparatus is cut off, preventing forced cut-off by a breaker of the feed line.
