PURPOSE: To detect disconnection of an earth wire including disconnection of earth wire within an electric/electronic apparatus and removal of the earth electrode from the earth. CONSTITUTION: An electric/electronic apparatus 1 is provided with two independent earth terminals 11, 12 and two independent earth electrodes 21, 22 are provided on the earth 2 side thus forming a closed loop CL including the two earth terminals 11, 12 and the two earth electrodes 21, 22. A decision is made that the earth wire is normal when the loop CL is closed otherwise a decision is made that the earth wire is abnormal.
