PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silver iodide-containing zeolite in which the silver iodide is present in a stabilized state, and to provide a method for producing the zeolite. ;SOLUTION: This silver iodide-containing zeolite has 2-30 wt.% silver iodide content based on the zeolite and the silver iodide is present in a cluster state in micropores having 0.7-1.4 nm average pore diameter in the zeolite. The method for producing the silver iodide containing zeolite comprises thermally dehydrating zeolite comprising the micropores having 0.7-1.4 nm average pore diameter and introducing the silver iodide in the vapor phase into the micropores of the zeolite at a temp. of 400-450°C temperature in the dark.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
