PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method and a jig which allows a definite spacing to be provided easily between the peripheral walls of a building. SOLUTION: A support member 11, which comprises an axial part 13 to be driven in a peripheral wall 5 and a support area which supports a block- shaped external facing material 7 with a specified spacing from the peripheral wall 5 when the axial part 13 is driven in the peripheral wall 5, is set up on the peripheral wall 5 with a specified spacing and set up thereon.
