PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity by shortening a forming cycle time in sizing the tooth of a helical gear and also to provide a device for sizing a tooth in expensive in the cost of equipment. ;SOLUTION: A lower punch 7 for supporting a base stock W for gears is composed of a 1st rotatable lower punch 7a and 2nd non-rotatable lower punch and, by engaging the inner peripheral teeth (s) of a sizing die 8 with the outer peripheral teeth (p) formed on the outer peripheral surface of the 1st lower punch 7a, the sizing die 8 is made freely rotatable and free in the vertical motion. The upper punch 9 for pressing and pushing the base stock W for gears in the interior of the sizing die 8 is composed of a 1st rotatable upper punch 9a and a 2nd non-rotatable upper punch 9b and made free in the vertical motion and also the outer peripheral teeth (q) are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the 1st upper punch 9a.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
