GLASS FUSION FURNACE FOR HIGH-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE LIQUID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel glass fusion furnace of a high-level radioactive waste liquid, capable of smoothing flowing down of metal sludge and preventing clogging due to brick chips.;SOLUTION: The upper surface of a bottom electrode 4, at the inner bottom part of a furnace body 2 made of refractory brick, is recessed into a flannel-like shape, making a flowing-down aperture 3 as the center. A brick chip receiver 10 is provided on an upper part of the bottom electrode 4, to prevent a closing of the flowing-down aperture 3 by the brick chip of the refractory brick. Thereby, a metal sludge generated in the furnace smoothly flows to the flowing-down aperture 3 side, and a short-circuit of current is prevented. Since the brick chip is captured by the brick chip receiver 10 before it arrives at the flowing- down aperture 3, the closing of the flowing-down aperture 3 by the brick chip can be prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
