PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide 5,15-diaryl-substituted Zn(II)-porphyrins having a porphyrin sequence higher than 8 and a method for preparing the compound. ;SOLUTION: A poly(5,15-diaryl-substituted Zn(II)-porphyrinylene) compound, a metal-free porphyrinylene compound and a porphyrinylene compound having Zn replaced by Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm or the like are represented by the formula (wherein n is an integer not less than 9; and R in the diaryl substituent group is a bulky alkyl group or a higher alkoxy group which increases the solubility of the compound in a solvent and can be the same or different from each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
