PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the working time of a next stage by decreasing the amount of data when the tool path of the next stage is found and making its arithmetic process easy.;SOLUTION: When the machining area of an unmachined corner part is searched to generate the tool path of the next stage where contour machining is performed for an unmachined corner part of a previous stage by a tool having a different tip part round radius, the sectional shape of the unmachined part is represented by a combination of arcs or an arc and a straight line, concerning a height of tool for each layer of the contour machining of the next stage corresponding to each layer of the contour machining of the previous stage, a position where the sectional shape of the tip part of a tool of the next stage comes into contact with the sectional shape of the unmachined part represented by the mentioned combination is regarded as the position where the tool of the next stage comes into contact with the unmachined part, and the moving distance from the contact position to the position where the tool of the next stage comes into contact with a product shape is found and regarded as an estimated distance; and the presence range of the area surrounded with the tool path at a tool position obtained by offsetting the position where the tool of the next stage comes into contact with the unmachined part toward the product shape by the estimated distance and the tool path at the position where the tool of the next stage comes into contact with the product shape is regarded as an unmachined corner range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
