PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a method to search long codes with high accuracy. ;SOLUTION: In the identification processing of a long code, a correlation arithmetic operation is applied between a prescribed chip of a first composite code and a received signal sample and its output power is calculated (S14). The above processing is repeatedly executed for k-sets of different chips of the same composite code (S16), and the mean value is compared with a prescribed threshold (S19). When the mean value is smaller than the prescribed threshold, the above processing is executed for second and succeeding composite codes (S20). Furthermore, peak outputs of a multi-path are summed, and the above processing may be executed regarding the sum.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
