PURPOSE: To achieve a low frequency driving by using a piezoelectric body comprising a solid solution single crystal of zinc lead niobate and lead titanate while facilitating matching with a transmitting/receiving circuit and allowing higher sensitivity by enabling a less thickness in the direction of vibrating the piezoelectric body. ;CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is provided with a piezoelectric body 1 which comprises a solid solution single crystal of zinc lead niobate and lead titanate and an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving element which has a pair of electrodes 3 and 4 each provided on an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving surface of the piezoelectric body and on the surface opposite to the transmitting/receiving surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
