PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method of detecting multiuser in CDMA reception.;SOLUTION: This method detects K symbols, which are transmitted by K users from received signals or are transmitted for the K users. The symbols of the users belong to a modulation constellation. The detecting method uses grids of points generated by the modulation constellation. The plurality of symbols of the users are represented by points in a subset constituted by points of the grids, and the signals are represented by specific points, which are translated from the points of the constellation by noise vector. A search is conducted for the step of orthogonal projection of the received points to an affine space, which is referred to as a projection space in parallel with or combined with the affine space for determining the constellation, and a search is also conducted for a point, which is the closet and adjacent to the point among points of the constellation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
