PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule with a homogeneous and flawless outer wax wall as a microcapsule formed of a double-wall film which can best suitably be used for pressure sensitive thermal recording.;SOLUTION: The capsule surface layer of a microcapsule containing a coloring material sealed with a wall film formed of a heat-resistant synthetic resin, is treated for activation by making a silane coupling agent react chemically with the microcapsule. Next, the capsule surface layer is coated with wax. A hydrophilic group such as a hydroxyl group or the like present in the microcapsule surface layer chemically reacts with the silane coupling agent, so that the surface is lipophilic. Consequently, a uniform outer wax wall free from irregularities in a deposition state is formed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
