PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antibacterial material for a pottery product, which is excellent in heat resistance and consists of an inorganic layered compound.;SOLUTION: This preparation process for preparing an antibacterial agent which is used for a pottery product and has enhanced heat resistance, comprises: using an inorganic layered compound as a main raw material, exchanging an exchangeable cation(s) existing between every adjacent two of the layers in the structure of the layered compound with a metal complex having antibacterial activity and a metal polynuclear hydroxide cation, to introduce the metal complex and metal polynuclear hydroxide cation into the space between the layers and thus, to prepare a clay-(metal complex) combined material antibacterial agent having antibacterial activity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
