PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive convergence correction device for which the degree of freedom of the design of a field shape is high and an inductance is small by providing a correction coil around a tube neck in a planar shape and specifying the arrangement. ;CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical tube neck 1 for housing an electron gun is provided and a deflection unit 5 connected to the convergence correction device 7 is provided. The correction device 7 is provided with the plural correction coil 9 in the shape of being wound to the planar shape and the correction coils 9 are arranged so as to provide at least two coil systems, respectively extend them to the angle of 360° and make the respective systems cooperate by activation and generate a magnetic 2n pole field (N=2, 3,...). It is desirable that the correction coils 9 are arranged as print coils on the surface of a holder 11 surrounding the tube neck 1. Thus, the high degree of freedom of the design is obtained and the inductance is lowered since a core is not present.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
