PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine optimum market price for a commodity.;SOLUTION: For the commodity whose optimum market price is to be determined, internet auction is conducted by an auction-executing WWW server 22, and the bid information is stored in a bid information DB 26 through a database server 23. An optimum market price determination computing part 27 adds up the number of persons capable of making a successful bid at the respective prices, according to the stored bid information, obtains the approximate formula formed by exponent functions or polynomial for approximating the correlation of the rate of bidders capable of making a successful bid obtained by dividing the added number of bidders capable of making a successful bid at the respective prices by the number of total bids and the price in an approximate calculating part 27B, estimates a benefit to the market price by the approximate formula in a benefit estimating part 27C, and determines the optimum market price from the estimated benefit in an optimum price calculating part 27D.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
