PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-image correspondence searching device and an inter-image correspondence searching method capable of efficiently finding accurate and reliable close correspondence without trouble of aliment between optical axis of a pattern projection optical system and a photographing optical system.;SOLUTION: This inter-image correspondence searching device searches for the correspondence between plural-viewpoint images. The inter-image correspondence searching device has a pattern projection image input means for inputting an image group wherein a photograph target projected with a prescribed pattern is photographed from plural different viewpoints; an image input means inputting an image group wherein the photograph target not projected with the pattern is photographed from the plural different viewpoints; a similarity calculation means comparing the image group inputted by the pattern projection input means with the image group inputted by the image input means, selecting one of the image groups in each area on the basis of a prescribed standard, and calculating a similarity in each the area of pixel between the images; and a searching means searching the corresponding area pair of pixel pair on the basis of the similarity calculated by the similarity calculation means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
