PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the liquid repelling film characteristics of a liquid repelling treated product having a porous inner wall, in evaluating the liquid repellency of the porous inner wall of the liquid repelling treated part having pores, by especially measuring the absorbancy due to the difference between chemical bonds of the liquid repelling treatment film by infrared rays. ;SOLUTION: In a method for evaluating the liquid repelling film characteristics of a liquid repelling treated part wherein liquid repelling treatment is applied to at least the interiors of pores thereof, infrared rays 3 are allowed to be incident on pores from one open ends thereof and reflected by the inner peripheral surfaces of pores to allow reflected lights to reach the other open ends of the pores and these reflected lights are detected by the detector 4 arranged at the other open ends and, from the absorbancy at this time, the characteristics of the liquid repelling film are evaluated. Further, in order to enhance absorbancy by increasing the reflection number of times of the liquid repelling film, a reflecting member having a mirror surface is inserted in each of the pores.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
