NEW FO-6979-M0 SUBSTANCE, FO-6979-M1 SUBSTANCE, FO-6979-M2 SUBSTANCE, FO-6979-M3 SUBSTANCE AND FO-6979-M4 SUBSTANCE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide FO-6979-M0 substance, FO-6979-M1 substance, FO-6979-M2 substance, FO-6979-M3 substance and FO-6979-M4 substance having an inhibitory activity for acyl-coenzyme A(acyl-CoA) cholesterol acyltransferase and a method for producing the substances. SOLUTION: A microorganism having an ability to produce the FO-6979-M0 substance, FO-6979-M1 substance, FO-69179-M2 substance, FO-6979-M3 substance and FO-6979-M4 substance is cultured in a culture medium to accumulate the FO-6979-M0 substance, FO-6979-M1 substance, FO-6979-M2 substance, FO-6979-M3 substance and FO-6979-M4 substance in a culture solution and the resultant FO-6979-M0 substance, FO-6979-M1 substance, FO-6979-M2 substance, FO-6979-M3 substance and FO-6979-M4 substance are then collected from the culture solution. Since the substances have low toxicity and specifically inhibit the acyl-CoA cholesterol acyltransferase, the substances are useful for prophylaxis and treatment of diseases caused by human cholesterol accumulation.
