PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to effectively use a portable GPS receiver, even if this receiver has not previously stored navigation information around a place to which the user actually went by a vehicle.;SOLUTION: The portable GPS receiver 100 is carried by a user, such as wrist watch type GPS receivers, and has a memory medium having a little data storing capacity. It comprises a navigation information acquirer which acquires any one among map information around the current position of the GPS receiver 100, destination information, sightseeing information, shop information, stroll information and other navigation information from a navigator 200 and stores data thereof in the memory medium. The navigator 200 such as on-board navigators is carried on a vehicle in use and has a larger data storing capacity than the memory medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
