Progress video editing system and magnetic recording reproducing arrangement

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock the phase of a 30 Hz time code signal with that of a progressive scanning TV system video signal in the progressive video edit system, that handles the progress scanning TV signal and has no 30 Hz information. SOLUTION: A VTR 1 of a progressive scanning TV system is connected to a VTR 2 through one coaxial cable, and a progressive scan video signal is transmitted by a format of a serial data interface. The VTR 2 uses a time code signal which is multiplexed on the serial digital interface signal to detect information which copes in 1/30 sec, and generate field information and the phase of the video signal is locked with that of a time code signal and the video signal is recorded/reproduced.
