READ/WRITE DEVICE FOR IC CARD AND OTHER-PURPOSE CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize cards of two kinds different in thickness by using one insertion port. SOLUTION: One of an IC card and a card of a different kind from the IC card is inserted into a read/write device, and the inserted card is read or written. The read/write device is provided with a first sensing section arranged on one side of a card inserting section to read or write the IC card, a second sensing section arranged on the other side of the card inserting section to read or write the card of the different kind, and a means bringing at least the inserted IC card and the first sensing section into contact with each other at the position where the card is inserted. This read/write device can read or write the IC card and the card of the different kind.
