PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material of a filament-reinforced resin which increases the bending strength without enhancing the density.;SOLUTION: The composite material 1 of a filament-reinforced resin comprises a filament bundle formed of a plurality of pieces 2a and 2b of filament and an expanded resin 3 which is cured and expanded after impregnating the filament bundle with it. The average fiber diameter of the filament 2b arranged near the outer periphery is larger than that of the filament 2a located in the center of the transverse face. In addition, the average density of the filament 2b near the outer periphery is not lower than the average density of the filament 2a in the center.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
