PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition comprising a raw material component which can be uniformly mixed even in melting and kneading by an extrusion molding machine, consequently, causing a uniform and stable graft reaction, capable of providing a modified olefin-based resin having high qualities and stability and to provide a method for producing the modified olefin-based resin having excellent qualities using the composition.;SOLUTION: This resin composition is characterized in that in a composition for a functional group-containing compound modified olefin-based resin comprising an olefin-based resin (A), a functional group-containing compound (B) and a radical generator (C) as main components, (1) the olefin-based resin (A) comprises 5-100 wt.% of a granular body having an average particle diameter (R1) (unit: mm) satisfying formula (a) 0.02≤R1≤2.0 and 95-0 wt.% of the rest of a pellet body having an average particle diameter (R2) (unit: mm) satisfying formula (b) 2.0R2≤7.0 and (2) the functional group-containing compound (B) is solid at ordinary temperature (15°C).
