PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device by which an electrostatic latent image is formed without precharging causing the production of ozone, the toner holding power of an electrostatic latent image forming body is kept after developing and a clear image is surely reproduced. ;CONSTITUTION: As for the image forming body 20 where the electrostatic latent image is formed, a grounded capacitor 32 is connected to respective picture element electrodes 33 arranged in a matrix state, and a switching element 31 is connected thereto. When the switching element 31 is conducted, the capacitor 32 is charged by an external power source, and potential is generated on the electrode 33.
