MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PORTABLE RADIO COMMUNICATION TERMINAL CAPABLE OF MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATION AND MESSAGE TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the occurrence of trouble that the portable telephone set of a transmitting destination can not receive a transmitted multimedia message (MM). SOLUTION: An MMS user database server 30 stores the format information of data receivable by each of portable telephone sets 101 -104 . In the MMS user database server 30, on the basis of format information and destination information sent from the portable telephone set 101 of a transmitting source for each media type of MM, it is decided whether that MM can be received in each of portable telephone sets 102 -104 of transmitting destinations or not and the decided result is reported to the portable telephone set 101 . In the portable telephone set 101 , on the basis of the decided result, it is judged whether the MM is to be transmitted as it is or format of the MM is to be changed.
