PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for folding an apex part panel in advance which is improved for a carton having an angle apex part to enable fold formation necessary for an improved angle form with respect to the angle apex part carton having an extended or expanded apex part panel. SOLUTION: The apparatus 18 for folding the apex part panel in advance for a packaging machine for molding, filling, and sealing the angle apex part carton includes a mandrel which can above into the carton from above the carton when the carton is moved along the process route of the packaging machine 10. Pivoting arms 24, 26 and 28, 30 which are separated by a pair of intervals which are arranged opposite both sides of the mandrel and oriented across the process route are pivoted around one axis to approach the mandrel and to be separated from the mandrel. Each arm has a flap, and the flap has a projection part projecting from its surface. The arms pivot to make the flaps contact the angle side part panel of the carton and fold the panel inward on the mandrel. The projection part of the flap contacts the angle side part panel in the neighborhood of an angle side part panel/vertical side part panel connection part.
