PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium dioxide-calcium carbonate composite particles, a method for manufacturing the particles and a composite composition or composite body having the particles blended in which the characteristics of titanium dioxide such as high opacity or the like can be more preferably developed.;SOLUTION: In the process of carbonation reaction typically performed by introducing a mixture gas of carbon dioxide and air while stirring calcium hydroxide slurry to carry out the carbonation reaction the composite particles are prepared by adding titanium dioxide particles having 0.1 to 0.5 m average particle size and by continuously introducing the mixture gas to continue the reaction until the pH of the slurry reaches 7. A composite composition such as a coating agent for paper making, coating material or the like, or a composite body such as paper or plastic molding, rubber molding or the like are manufactured by blending the obtained composite particles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
