PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method for a recording medium with which the performance of reproduction procedure by a menu operation is enhanced, and to provide its reproducing device and reproducing method.;SOLUTION: The recording method for the recording medium includes a step of generating a video object and a step of recording the generated video object to the recording medium. The video object comprises units, with each unit including moving picture data in the unit of a prescribed time, sub-picture data to be reproduced at the same time, and effective highlight information, when the moving picture data in its belonging unit are reproduced, the sub- picture data are a menu image including buttons, and the highlight information includes a command for each button to be executed, when a button is brought into an enter state and selection and immediate enter button information to designate a button used to forcibly shift to an enter state, with respect to a user operation to select a button.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
